The relatively low range of electric cars has been identified as the main discouraging factor of electric car acceptance. But I guess I just said what you already knew. Ecotricity, one of the leading British green energy companies operating 52 wind turbines and powering more than 50,000 homes and businesses, think they’ve found a solution.
They are launching a national charging network at motorway service stations. It is understood that Ecotricity will offer charging points powered with green energy generated at company’s wind and solar parks.

Electric Car Prices are Confusing

Now, I find it very frustrating that almost any car costs more in Britain than the same car in Europe or the USA. Mitsubishi have revealed that the i-MieV electric car will cost $28,800 in the States. As for the UK, the price is £28,990. Yes, that’s in pounds sterling – makes around $45,000. Wireless Charging Comes Back to Britain

We’ve regularly featured various contactless charging systems for electric cars, most recently gadgets created by Nissan and Volvo. Now there’s a rival system being promoted by a local company HaloIPT.

The current electric car offering in Britain is rather limited and very expensive. Mitsubishi i-MIEV costs £29,000 while a Nissan Leaf will set you back £31,000.
How would you like an electric car that …

Growing Biodiesel in Bath

No, I don’t mean the bath that you’re taking after a hard and busy week and that some green people suggest you don’t take at all. I’m talking about the beautiful English city of Bath, unique with its thermal baths.
The university of Bath has started a unique research into developing algae growing for the purpose of extracting biodiesel.
A hectare of algae can produce 7 times more biodiesel for our cars than the same footage of a rapeseed plant.
However, although the first time somebody mentioned using algae to produce green fuel
