Compressed Air Car Tested in Aviation

MDI AirPod
Can it be that Guy Negre – the genius behind the real zero-emission compressed air car – is on the edge of a breakthrough? Air France and KLM Airlines are testing his latest green car, the AirPod. This could mean a real revolution – it is claimed that the cost to run AirPod is just £0.60 per 100 miles. So far, for various reasons the history of his company MDI is more exhibitions and less manufacturing. The initial plan was to launch the Air Car on mass-scale production in the year of 2000.
It is not all that bleak, however. Mr Negre has sold 50 distribution licences, mainly outside Europe. Tata of India will allegedly soon start producing his OneCat – it is a cheap and simple eco-car and India’s big cities are screaming for some clean motoring.
If the six-month tests of AirPod are successful, Guy Negre will find the doors open to a world of new possibilities. In fact, when he proposed the idea of an air-powered car, he wasn’t taken seriously. Now, 18 years on, his car is running as a passenger shuttle on a large European airport.
AirPod is a three-wheeler, three-seater personal mobility gadget with a range of 130 miles and top speed of 40 mph. It is an extremely low-cost car, that’s why Tata got interested in the first place. The estimated price is not much over £3,000 per unit. Great news! We will follow the tests, so stay tuned.
