Wilmington Academy
We featured a story a few weeks ago about the Wilmington Academy’s struggle to find a sponsor for their stint at the annual Greenpower competition. We’ve got some good news to share and thanks to say. The companies that are sponsoring the project are: YZL Education Consultancy, Toyota Jemca and Nextgreencar.com.
Thanks to their support the pupils were able to go and compete at the Silverston. Although it was (officially) the wettest day of the year, everyone had a great time. Supporting the new generation of engineers and scientists is essential for the British industry to go on strongly.
The next stage of the race takes place at Goodwood on June 10th but in the meantime you can watch the video from Silverstone:

I would like to thank all those people who were involved in our Greenpower project. It is only with the help and support of external organisations and individuals that schools can get involved with these amazing and inspirational projects for young people. Please be aware sponsorship is not always hard cash although it does help when kicking off a project from the start. Sponsorship can come in many forms, from public websites like this one which raises our profile and experts simply taking the time to advise us how to get over a simple problem with the manufacture.
So thank you Electric Car News. We will keep you informed of our progress.
Well done to all the team at Wilmington Academy! Great achievement and look forward to seeing the results at Goodwood. From all at Next Green Car.
