New Supercheap Renault Microcar

Carlos Ghosn

Determination!

Carlos Ghosn has that Renault is ready to compete with Tata Nano for the name of world’s cheapest car. It appears that Renault are developing a brand new platform that will be used as basis for a car that is very simple to build.

Mr Ghosn certainly sees a potential in further expansion of the amount of car sales. If you think that 50,000,000 per year is too many cars to produce worldwide, the Renault’s top man thinks that there’s a room for improvement. Although the Europe and North America is more or less saturated, there’s a rampant auto market in Asia. For example, in India they only have 3 cars per 100 people. Compare that with the average of 60 cars per 100 people in the Western world!

Although the information that was leaked earlier suggested that the price of the Renault microcar would be in the region of EUR2,500 it seems now it could be a tad over EUR3,000. Take that, Tata Nano!
