Best Buy Sets a New Electric Car Milestone in Britain

There was WalMart… then they came to England and created ASDA. Like it or not but it is there, wherever you go. Another American retail giant is coming to Britain and bringing good news for electric car fans.

Europe to Add More Bureaucracy to Electric Cars

The EU wouldn’t be EU if they didn’t come up with another scheme to justify their existence. According to Brussels, standardisation is required for the electric car market to work. What they want is a standard charger across Europe. According to the EU, the main reason to introduce standard is that the US and Asia are already developing their standards.

Milton Keynes Council has announced that they’ve reached an agreement with the Renault-Nissan alliance. The town will apparently be one of the first places in Britain to receive electric cars made by Renault and Nissan when they become available. That’s how they’ve jumped the queue.

How Would You Like to Use Your Electric Car, Sir?

A question like this and many other vital questions will be on eTec’s agenda as they’re preparing to roll out the biggest electric car infrastructure field-test in history. They’ve received $100 million from the US Department of Energy and doubled the total with a private investor input. The study will be launched in California, Washington, Arizona, Oregon and Tennesee. In total 11,000 charging points will be installed and 4700 Nissan Leafs leased out to people who have expressed their readiness of becoming test rabbits.
