Renault Banned over Emissions Claims

13 May 2010 No Comment

Renault’s electric car advert has been banned from the French newspapers after French Electricity pointed out that their statistic figures have been misused. Renault claimed that “the well-to-wheel efficiency of a Renault Fluence Z.E. will help reduce CO2 emissions by at least 90% compared to a current diesel model”. This advert has stirred reaction from independent press and competitors.

As we mentioned a while ago, a study carried out by Danish scientists shown that electric cars are only a fraction greener than diesel cars. How will this incident affect the future sales of the Fluence electric car?
