Renault Fluence Z.E. Delivered to Car Hire Services

Renault Fluence Hits London

This week marks another important step for rolling out the Renault electric car programme. Precisely one month ahead of the official UK showroom launch, four units of Renault Fluence Z.E. have been delivered to Central London based car hire companies Climatecars and Green Tomato Cars.

Apparently the Z.E. is London’s first all electric car that is used as private hire vehicle. There have been attempts to run green car hire companies for London but it has had moderate success. If the Fluence Z.E. proves popular among car hire clients, it may lay a foundation for a new lucrative business niche.

Electric cars like Renault Fluence Z.E. makes perfect sense for London – they can do 115 miles on a single charge (that’s if you’re lucky) and being a full-size five-seater, the car doesn’t compromise on safety or creature comforts.

Both car hire companies – Climatecars and Green Tomato Cars – expressed excitement about the delivery and suggested they might be adding more electric cars to their fleets during 2012.
