Tesla Conquers Canada

Tesla Roadster

Tesla Motors have conquered another milestone by selling their first bunch of Roadster electric cars in Canada. They’ve been always very keen on the Canadian market and the expansion would have happened much earlier if there were no Transport Canada.

But there is (and I’m delighted there is) and their mission is to keep junk off the streets. That’s how they killed off the Dynasty IT egg-shell car. Tesla Roadster passed all their tests and now it is officially available to the green car enthusiasts.

The retail price for a brand new Tesla Roadster is CAD$125,000 (that’s $118,700), which is more expensive than the US base price. Can you understand why Canadians have to pay extra $9K for the same car? I cannot!

Nevertheless, it is predicted they’ll do pretty well in Canada. The Canadian sales material suggests that the car has a 400km range. Well, I don’t know about that.
